A Group of People Who Thought They Could Clean Up Nairobi

I've been blogging for a while now about diverse topics:  literature , popular- culture , poetry and old movie stars. My mother once told me that I was a Jack of all trades and a master of none , but that comment rang true. I mean , I've done Web design , Chinese , French and went to entrepreneurship school. I can honestly say I am not an IT specialist , I am fairly versed in Chinese and French and I am not my own boss.
Am I just wasting resources? I hope not , but my temperament is primarily, a sanguine. So there you go , mum.

When I went to Passion Profit School of EntrepreneurshipTm , I wanted to acquire the tools to help me to be an environmentalist. My project was based on Social Entrepreneurship , and I named my company Re-generation. I had a mission statement , objectives ,certificate and  legal framewor.
Two years later ...

I gave up on the idea and decided to focus on finishing my degree in Development Communication. See, it was a journalism degree , but I wanted to be captain planet , I wanted to be involved with children and development in my country and continent. I mean , there's so much to be done. We've got the smarts it's time to get the part.

But it does start with yourself , you can't change the world if you can't change yourself and it has taken me this long to get here , to post this , to be this.

I became jaded after working for a local organisation that was more about their image and profits than the actual work , I wanted to actually work at helping people. Also reading Lords of Poverty didn't help either , I was jaded.

A couple of students from the University looked me up , and invited me to a training sponsored by Plan International on Child Abuse. It was five days of discussion , planning and brainstorming , it was inspiring.
Staying in a swanky hotel room , all expenses paid didn't hurt either.

COHUD , was born. Community for Human Development. It was just an organisation formed by students who wanted to do something and wanted to execute projects. An environmental team was formed and I joined it along with a few more members and this ... This is our journey the mad hysteria of a group of people who thought they could clean Nairobi.
